Up, Down.

The Tree Out My Window June 21 2009The Tree Out My Window June 21 2009The Tree Out My Window June 21 2009

damned camera! Olympus Stylus, i used to have a CyberShot, at least i knew how to turn the fucking flash off!

so it looks like i should be cleaning my window then ... somewhere here i have already told that story ... yeah, I am fixing my window, the tree i have already revealed in introjection / Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente / World Environment Day
Humpty Dumpty, John Tenniel
Buddhists do have hell it turns out ...

Death will be so quick to swoop on you;
Gather merit till that moment comes!
Wait till then to banish Laziness?
Then there’ll be no time , what will you do?

“This I have not done. And this I am only starting.
And this --- I’m only halfway through ... ?
Then is the sudden coming of the Lord of Death
Humpty Dumpty, John TennielAnd oh, the thought “Alas I’m finished.”

Your tear-stained cheeks, your red and swollen eyes
Such will be the depths of your distress.
You’ll gaze into the faces of your hopeless friends,
And see the coming servants of the Deadly Lord.

The Memory of former sins will torture you
The screams and din of hell break on your ears.
With very terror you will foul yourself;
What will you do then, in such extremity of fear?
Humpty Dumpty, Blanche Fisher Wright
And if you are so scared while still alive,
Like fishes writhing on the open ground,
What need to speak of pain unbearable
In Hells created by past evil deeds?

The hells in which the boiling molten bronze
Will burn your body, tender like a baby’s flesh ---
All is now prepared, your former deeds have done it!
How can you lie back, so free of care?

All the King's horses and all the King's men, John TennielTake advantage of this human boat:
Free yourself from sorrow's mighty stream
This vessel will be later hard to find.
The time that you have now, you fool , is not
For sleep.

Alek Wekfrom something called Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara (The Way of the Bodhisattva (The Enlightened being)), possibly endless parentheses to get it straight :-) sounds like good advice, makes me think of Robert Herrick's To the virgins, to make much of time and some others like it ...

Alek Wek Pirelli Calendar Herb Rittssimple thoughts, "he was like a tree" or "he was a tree," metaphors for which you have a concrete operator in each hand so to speak, 'him' in one hand and 'a tree' in the other and ... smush ... it becomes more-or-less understood, and then there are other, transcendental metaphors like "God is Love," where at best you have a notion in one hand and nothing in the other and when you go ... smush ... it is you who smushes :-)

Alek Wekand thinking of principe e princesa working itself out in Brasilian culture, even the poor girls are princesas and it is in the nature of dialectic that the principes follow suit, not 'follow' exactly, more walk in parallel, and i wonder if there is a clue in the martial side of structures containing notions of princesses and princes? that is, kings - which makes it essentially about war & domination instead of love

THREE PACKS TODAY!    HOKEY DOODLE MAN!    THIS CAN'T LAST!

thinking about Alek Wek along the way ... no surprise there ... what else do fat old fucked-up white guys think about? she has written a book Alek: From Sudanese Refugee to International Supermodel, story of her struggle from Sudan to New York, suffers from psoriasis apparently, none of it could have happened without family, an architect in the mix ...

coming back around to princesas for a sec ...
Jimmy Soul! If you wanna be happy,

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall
Alek: From Sudanese Refugee to International SupermodelAs soon as he marries her, then she starts
Doin' the things that will break his heart

But if you make an ugly woman your wife
You'll be happy for the rest of your life
An ugly woman cooks your meals on time
An she'll always give you peace of mind

Don't let your friends say you have no taste
Go ahead and marry anyway
Though her face is ugly and her eyes don't match
Take it from me, she's a better catch

complete nonsense of course, i tried it both ways, neither worked out very well ... could have spent more time cleaning the windows and finding a garden to dig in ...

Voltaire, Candide & Cunegonde"All that is very well," answered Candide, "but let us cultivate our garden."

time enough for that yet maybe

Down.
