On Friday, Gabriel Rieg, a farmer from Anitápolis in Santa Catarina, harvested a 1.2 meter squash. The vegetable was picked on the property where he lives with his family.
He is a member of an association of farmers who open their properties to tourists. All of the food served to the guests consists of natural products cultivated with organic manure.
This weekend, the giant squash will be served at the guest~s table. But this will not make the farmer sad. "I have seen bigger," he said.
